Key Responsibilities
1. Nightly Financial Reconciliation
- Audit and balance all revenue from the day (rooms, food & beverage, spa, etc.).
- Review and verify that all charges are correctly posted.
- Reconcile discrepancies in financial transactions.
- Close the business day in the Property Management System (PMS).
2. Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare daily financial and occupancy reports for hotel management.
- Generate revenue and cash summary reports.
- Compile audit data into spreadsheets or accounting systems.
3. Front Desk Operations
- Handle late-night check-ins and early check-outs.
- Assist guests with inquiries, bookings, wake-up calls, and requests.
- Process payments, refunds, and print invoices or receipts.
4. Security and Guest Safety
- Monitor the property during the night for safety and security.
- Report any suspicious activity or maintenance issues.
- Ensure emergency procedures are followed if needed.
5. Operational Support
- Ensure lobby and public areas remain clean and orderly.
- Communicate with housekeeping or maintenance for urgent overnight needs.
- Prepare the front desk for the morning shift (e.g., set up reports, stock supplies).
6. Cash and Payment Handling
- Count and reconcile the cash drawer.
- Prepare deposit slips and secure funds in the safe.
- Ensure all credit card, cash, and folio transactions are accurate
Job Specification
Education & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Degree or diploma in hospitality or accounting preferred.
Experience
- Prior experience in front desk, accounting, or night audit roles in a hotel is desirable.
- Experience with hotel PMS software (e.g., Opera, Cloudbeds, Hotelogix) preferred.
